As a residential homeowner, can I rent a dumpster?
Yes. Freedom Waste dumpsters are easy to place on residential properties and may even leave space to park when
placed on a driveway.
How much notice do you need to deliver a dumpster?
Freedom Waste can usually deliver or service a dumpster within 24 hours. We pride ourselves on our quick,
efficient, and courteous service.
How do I rent a dumpster?
Call Freedom Waste and be prepared to answer the following:
• Address of and directions to the location where the dumpster is needed.
• Type of project you have (i.e., new home, addition, renovation, etc.)
• Type of material going into the dumpster
• Needed delivery date, and approximate length of time you will be using the dumpster
• Where you want the dumpster to be placed on your site. (Note: Our dumpsters have rear opening doors.
Please consider this when placing the dumpster.).
How do I pay for the dumpster?
Payment in full is required at the time the dumpster is delivered.
Personal check, business check, cash, or credit card (VISA or MasterCard) are accepted.
We also have open accounts which require an approved credit application be on file at the time of delivery.
Will the dumpster damage my lawn or driveway?
Freedom Waste drivers are trained to be extremely careful, and all dumpsters roll on wheels.
However, factors such as a stuck wheel, weight of the loaded dumpster, wet or damp lawn, or age and
stability of driveway could cause some marring and/or cracking. The chance of this can be virtually
eliminated by having plywood available to place the dumpster wheels and rail on. Freedom Waste
cannot under any circumstance be responsible for any damage caused by normal placement of the dumpster.
How long may I keep the dumpster?
You may have the dumpster for as long as needed to complete your project. Freedom Waste will
pick up the container when you for service. There is a $50.00 non-service fee if the dumpster is not emptied monthly.
How large are your dumpsters?
Freedom Waste dumpsters are an average of 12 feet long, 7 feet wide and 4 feet high, depending on manufacturer.
This seems small. What are the appropriate jobs for this size?
Freedom Waste dumpsters are appropriate for all jobs. We can deliver more than one container to accommodate
the type of job which may result in filling dumpsters quickly. Remember, we do not charge delivery fees!! Often only
one dumpster will be needed which can be swapped several times a day. (To SWAP out dumpsters, Freedom Waste
brings an empty can and takes the full one away.) Some counties and cities have exclusive franchise agreements with
waste haulers. This may limit the size container all other registered non-exclusive franchise waste haulers can
deliver - usually limited to 15 cubic yard or less. Beware, your job could be put on hold by the county or city should the
waste hauler you choose be in violation of, or not be franchised where required.
How far can I fill up the dumpster?
If the material is very heavy, like a load of concrete block, the container should be filled just below the top rail (3/4 full).
Lighter materials, such as construction and demolition debris, can be mounded toward the center of the dumpster no
more than 1-2’ above the top. Keep your load as flat as possible so that no objects are standing straight up to
interfere with tarping the load.
Is there anything I cannot put in the dumpster?
Yes. The following items should not be placed in the dumpster:
paints (except dry cans), equipment containing gas or oil, chemicals, pesticides, hazardous materials, fuels or
propane tanks, medical waste, and batteries. Tires are an additional fee. Please call us if you are unsure.
For proper disposal of items that cannot go into the dumpster, contact your county landfill. They will often accept these items.
Why not hire the guy with an old pickup that stopped and said he could haul away my trash cheaply?
He probably isn’t insured, and you will be responsible should he get hurt or do property damage. Also, if the waste is
not disposed of properly, you could be held liable. (This includes putting your debris into someone else’s dumpster.
It is illegal and subject to prosecution.) Freedom Waste provides a variety of waste hauling and pick-up services.
We can supply a bobcat/dump truck crew or a hand-load/dump truck crew able to load and properly dispose of
your debris. We will remove items your residential garbage hauler may not: trees and other vegetation,
dressers, mattresses, televisions, etc.
